Remote and Hostile Medicine including FPOS



This course is designed to take the First Aider on to the next skill level, students will be taught the skills associated with rapid assessment, stabilisation and transfer of both the trauma victim and those suffering a medical emergency. It is aimed at those working in high risk and hostile environments. FPOS is fully recognized by the Security Industry Authority.

The first three days of the course are FPOS which is approved by Edexcel and is IHCD managed. The additional two days are for those requiring extended skills. The training includes both theoretical lectures and practical sessions, designed to develop a good, all round First Responder.

The instructors are all ex Special Forces Medics and civilian paramedics; all have recent operational experience.

The syllabus includes:

FPOS Intermediate and First Aid at Work
– Scene Safety
- Airway Management
- Oxygen Therapy
- Spinal Immobilisation
- Defibrillation
- Trauma and Medical Emergencies
Extended Skills
– Cannulation
- Fluid Therapy
- Advanced Trauma
– Chest, Abdominal, Head and Extremity Trauma (including Tourniquets and Quick Clot)

Cost
The cost for individual places on our regular “open” courses is £495 + VAT for all five days. This includes manuals, certification, tea/coffee and lunch.
